we have read threads where statistics show that 2 out of every 3 people raised as jehovah's witnesses eventually leave once they get in their 20's to 30's and out on their own.

my children and my nieces and nephews are between the ages of 21 to 35 .

out of those 8 people - 4 of them have completely stopped attending meetings .

Out of us 4 kids, only one got baptized (me). And I'm fading now. Haven't gone to a meeting in over three months.

Are you content?

i find it hard to be content...even though i have a nice apartment, good job, good health, family and friends.

i'm of course grateful for these things but i feel that somehow i always long for something else.

when i'm single i want to be with someone...when i'm with someone i want to be free.

May I also suggest this book : "If Life Is A Game, Then These Are the Rules" by Cherie Carter Scott.

Creation - struggling

i am in the process of leaving, and those of you who have followed me will know i spoke to my family briefly the other day about my doubts, but not since.

my dad has offered the occasional prayer for various things in the past week, as well as say he wants to study with my preschoolers.

he has also added in the extra tidbits to do with jehovah being the only true god etc.

The question you have is sort of like what I always had growing up.

"Did Jehovah God create time?"

If Jehovah God had always existed and time itself never has a beginning nor an end, does that mean Jehovah God IS time?

Never got a straight logical answer for that one.

overall my fade is going very well, but yesterday it really hit me that certain "milestones" are going to be more difficult than others.. i have basically gotten down to one meeting a week, wth no field service.. this despite the dreaded admonition "one week without field service makes one weak!

" (puke).

as i was on the way to the meeting yesterday, i was informed that i was assigned to read the wt.

Why do you come to this site?

after all the years i have been here, i have slowly progressed to the point that the bible, god, and all the other religious stuff out there is just plain bullshit!!!

yet when i first came here and was told by some of the members that that is what i would logically come to, i did not believe them, and yet they were right.

i realize that a lot of people on this board have left, or are struggling with themselves or family to leave, yet many still believe.

I saw MJ two different times at the district convention. In fact our seats were about 50 yards away from him. My closest encounter with him was when I was strolling the corridor and he, along with two large black brothers, walked leisurely past me. That is when I realized that MJ wasn't really that tall. I was in Jr. high school then and he wasn't much taller than me.

By the way, this was during the early 80's at Dodger Stadium. We all sat at the club level and the immediate section that he was sitting in were all black brothers and sisters.
